Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from an accredited University.
Having completed a pharmacy residency program. Advanced management degree program (MS, MBA or MHA) is a plus.
Possession of a valid license to practice as a pharmacist in Lebanon.
Minimum 10-15 years of work experience in Hospital Pharmacy practice out of which at least 3-5 years in managerial positions as Chief Pharmacist or Head of Pharmacy or related senior role in this field.
Previous experience in healthcare management and hospitals is required.
Good knowledge of pharmaceutical requirements and practice advancement initiatives (General Rules of Good Pharmacy Practice).
Will provide professional and pharmaceutical leadership and management to the pharmacy department in the hospital.
Will establish the mission, vision, goals, and scope of pharmacy services based on needs assessment of the patients, the university hospital and developments in healthcare and pharmacy practice (operations and clinical).
Will mobilize and manage the resources, both human and financial, necessary for the optimal provision of pharmacy services. Will develop pharmacy services with the intent to extend to all areas in which medications for patients are prescribed, dispensed, administered, and monitored, such as (i.e., inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, emergency services). Will assure patient care services’ provided by pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel are in accordance to applicable national laws, regulations, and in compliance with standards of practice from accrediting organizations, such as, but not limited to the Lebanese MOPH, ISO and Joint Commission International (JCI).
Evidence of leadership in hospital pharmacy practice and professional associations.
Evidence of expertise in education/training of hospital students and residents.
Working knowledge of safety standards.
Highly organized and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
Ability to work effectively as a team player. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Good communication and relation internally with the Pharmacy staff, all Hospital departments, doctors, medical representatives and externally with local and international suppliers, the Ministry of Health, Social Security and pharmacy syndicates.
Good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written English skills. French is a plus.
