For a major European Industrial Gas Company, NECG conducted a feasibility study to evaluate the Egyptian market in general, its threats and opportunities, and the gas industry market in particular.

The mission had 3 objectives:

Present an overall perspective on the investment environment in Egypt, including risks and opportunities: Country positioning in the region, Economic indicators, trends, economic and political risks, privatization programs, experience of foreign investors in Egypt, etc.
Establish a detailed perspective on the Group products’ markets / sectors (health, industrial, welding, etc.) and identify the best opportunities for the Group: Main clients, price levels, distribution channels, trends, etc.
Based on a quantitative analysis of the different segments, NECG had to shortlist the best opportunities for the Group
Evaluate the attractiveness and fit of a suggested local partner for the European company and if judged unsuitable, look for other potential partners in the country.

In order to conduct the above, the team adopted the following approach:

At the market segments level: NECG completed around 40 interviews with key players in the industry at all levels including producers, distributors and end consumers.
